Welsh pharmacists to offer new service

People with pharmacy jobs in Wales will begin offering a new service from February next year, according to a Medical News Today report.
In five months' time, such medical professionals will be able to offer customers an allergy screening service.
As part of the initiative, which is being organised by Allergy UK in association with the National Pharmacy Association, pharmacists will be trained to provide advice to sufferers in the country.
The process will see patients undergo a consultation during which a full clinical history will be taken by a pharmacist.
Ongoing information and support will then be provided to the sufferer by Allergy UK.
In related news, Hi-Tech Scotland recently reported that, following a successful trial by staff at St John's Hospital in Livingston, pharmacists in the Lothian region of Scotland are to begin using a new handheld computer which provides them with instant access to patient data and enables them to upload new records.
