Radiography students in the UK and the US are set to trial new technology designed to aid their studies, it has been revealed.
The groups, who are completing courses at St George's University of London and Kingston University, will be able to use a simulated cancer treatment room, Medical News Today reports.
By using the software, students will be able to get to grips with some of the skills they will require to provide patients with doses of radiotherapy without leaving their university campuses.
According to Geraldine Francis, deputy head of the School of Radiography at Kingston, the new technology will transform the training of radiotherapists.
She stated: "They will be able to practice set-up procedures and learn how to administer treatments in a real-life setting before they begin hospital practice."
An independent dual faculty institution, St George's University of London provides a range of medicine and health science courses.
