Health secretary opens new medical facility

Health secretary Alan Johnson has opened a new medical facility in the Rochdale area of Milkstone and Deeplish, it has been revealed.
The centre, which is called Nye Bevan House, will provide a range of services, including audiology, people with UK medical jobs may be interested to hear.
Commenting on the new provision, which has cost £10 million to develop, Mr Johnson said: "This is a brilliant resource for the local community with a real wow factor. There will be another five or six launched across the borough and they will make a huge difference, the Rochdale Observer reports.
Meanwhile, John Pierce, chairman of the Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale NHS Trust, added that, in addition to four audiology suites, the facility houses a gym, a pharmacy and an opticians, among other things.
Established on October 1st 2006, Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale NHS Trust has responsibility over a number of hospitals, including Rochdale Infirmary, North Manchester General and Royal Oldham.
