'More NHS workers needed' in York

A recruitment campaign designed to encourage more nurses and health workers to the York region in time for winter has been launched, the Press has reported.
The newspaper asserted that a number of wide-ranging roles are available at York Hospitals NHS Trust.
NHS Professionals, which runs a nursing bank, is seeking registered nurses, as well as people who can work in maternity A&E, ICU, in paediatrics and theatres.
Experienced care support workers are also needed in the region.
According to a spokeswoman for NHS Professionals, the recruitment campaign is part of the organisation's drive to pre-empt the additional pressures faced by the health service in the winter months.
"We know it is going to be a time of high demand," the spokeswoman said, adding that flu season adds to the pressure.
NHS Professionals is a specialist organisation that provides flexible staff to 131 NHS trusts across the UK.
Some 61,000 flexible workers are registered with the service.
