New audiology jobs may become available in Oldham

People seeking audiology jobs may be interested to learn that plans have been unveiled for the first phase of development for a new health centre in Oldham.
The Royton Health and Well-being Centre, which will replace an existing facility if the proposals are accepted, will offer a range of services, including audiology and podiatry.
In addition, there will be two GP practices, accommodation for community nursing teams, dental surgeries and an area for minor surgery, Hospital Development reports.
Set to cost £10 million, the centre is being created for Oldham Primary Care Trust (PCT) - which serves 227,000 people in the local area - and Oldham council.
"I'm pleased we've all been able to work together, with local people, to deliver what they want," stated Oldham PCT chairman Riaz Ahmad.
If the plans are approved, work could begin on the health centre during the first three months of 2009 and construction of the facility is expected to take 74 weeks.
