NHS watchdog issues award to hospital staff

An NHS watchdog has presented an award to a number of hospital staff in recognition of their success, it has emerged.
The employees were brought in to ensure that doctors and nurses at University Hospital in Coventry were able to do their jobs without being distracted, those with UK medical jobs may be interested to note.
Kay Aherne, Dave Jackson and Julia Horne manage service contractors at the medical facility, such as cleaners and food providers, to ensure they perform their roles effectively, the Coventry Telegraph reports.
They have now received a Good Practice Award from the Health Estate Facilities Management Association, which was formed in the early 1990s and has responsibility for the management of NHS maintenance and support services.
Commenting on the award, hospital maintenance manager David Powell said: "The team was thrilled when they found out. It's great recognition for the work we do."
Meanwhile, Paul Crofton, the hospital's project director, added that the three workers play a "vital role" in ensuring high standards are maintained at the institution.
