Health trust introduces measure to cut hospital infection rates

A health trust has introduced new guidelines for hospital visitors in a bid to reduce infection rates, it has emerged.
According to a BBC report, the Western Heath Trust is now requesting that all people entering its medical facilities refrain from sitting on patient's beds and touching medical equipment or notes, those with hospital doctor jobs may be interested to note.
Meanwhile, visiting times will be restricted and no more than two people will be able to go to see a patient at the same time.
In addition, people will continue to be asked to wash their hands using hand gel.
However, wards such as maternity and intensive care will have different systems in place.
In related news, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London was recently praised for its level of cleanliness following an inspection conducted by a team of NHS staff and patient representatives, the London Informer reported.
The group was examining a number of things, including infection control, cleaning procedures and the general patient environment.
