North-east hospital to undergo improvements

A number of hospitals located across the north-east are to benefit from increased investment, which may have a positive impact on people with UK medical jobs.
Over the course of the next two years, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Trust is set to spend £6.5 million improving its hospital buildings, the News Guardian reports.
The money will be targeted at 55 wards which provide in-patient mental health and learning disability services.
"Ideally we'd like to see all our services provided from such modern purpose-built facilities and we have long-term plans to improve many of our buildings," stated Dr Andrew Fairbairn, acting chief executive of the trust.
In other industry news, the construction of a new centre for children with learning disabilities will lead to the creation of a range of UK medical jobs, the Shropshire Star recently reported.
Due to cost around £2.25 million, the Telford-based facility will see an increased need for speech therapists, occupational therapists and physiotherapists, among other workers.
