New multimillion-pound hospital 'will go ahead'

Managers at West Sussex Primary Care Trust (WSPCT) have reaffirmed that a multimillion-pound hospital development in Littlehampton is going ahead despite delays.
The medical centre, which is likely to have between 25 and 40 beds, would provide a range of UK medical jobs in occupational therapy and physiotherapy, among other disciplines.
People campaigning for the hospital had hoped work would commence by the end of this year, although delays have meant the project has fallen behind schedule, the Argus reports.
"We are now developing outline and full business cases to consider the various funding routes that will be adopted to enable this hospital to be built. It is right we do this so we are sure we are making best use of taxpayers' money," stated Sarah Creamer, director of strategic planning at the health trust.
With an annual budget of £1 billion, WSPCT serves a population of 776,300 and operates a number of medical institutions, including 95 GP surgeries.
