DES guidance through NHS Choices

Patients will be able to check their GPs against national data accreditation standards, it has emerged.
NHS Connecting to Health reported the news, subsequently picked up by Health Insider, that NHS Choices has released new plans to publicise data accreditation status.
In news that may interest those with UK medical jobs, the guidance for the IM&T directed enhanced service (DES) says that the deadline for practices to qualify for payments under the DES has been put back to March 31st 2009.
According to the report, Dr Gillian Braunold, clinical director of the Summary Care Record, said that about half of GP practices have expressed an interest in DES.
NHS Choices, the official website of the NHS, was developed to enable patients to make their own decisions about their health and lifestyle choices.
It draws on knowledge and information from the National Library for Health, NHS Direct, the Information Centre for Health and Social Care and the healthcare commission, as well as other bodies.
