Hospital porter 'plans to train as pharmacist'

A hospital porter is to return to university to become a pharmacist.
The Sunday Mail reports that Leo Walsh, aged 24, intends to study pharmacy at Liverpool University.
Four years ago, while studying chemical engineering at university in Cork, he moved to Edinburgh for the summer, securing a job as a hospital porter with NHS Lothian.
He enjoyed it so much he decided to stay, even though it involved walking up to 20 miles a day.
But now he intends to return to study in the hope of getting a UK pharmacy job.
Mr Walsh, from County Tipperary, told the newspaper: "You get satisfaction from knowing you are part of the healing process."
In further news that may interest those with UK medical jobs or pharmacy jobs, pharmaceutical company Boehringer Ingelheim has continued to record strong growth in local currencies in the first half of 2008.
Medical News Today reported that the company's growth is up by nine per cent and it expects sales growth to continue.
