Hospital rolls out new equipment to combat infections

A Lincolnshire hospital has invested in new hand-washing equipment in the fight to combat infections.
United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust (ULHT) has installed the devices in Louth County Hospital, along with other medical centres in the county, those with hospital doctor jobs may be interested to hear.
The hygiene stations, which feature highly-visible yellow back boards and alcohol gel dispensers, aim to get the attention of visitors, patients and staff, the Grimsby Evening Telegraph reports.
"It is hoped this initiative and other projects such as staff training, careful use of antibiotics and cleanliness will help fight infection," stated senior infection prevention nurse for ULHT Charmian Hutson.
She added that one of the most effective methods of preventing infection is ensuring high levels of hand hygiene.
Established in April 2000, ULHT provides a range of services to the people of Lincolnshire and employs around 7,000 staff.
