Haematology Consultant West Midlands
Salary £74,504 - £100,446. Based in the West Midlands, this is an excellent opportunity for a Consultant in Haematology to work within the department at the Hospital who takes pride in providing a high quality service.
You will be employed within the Division of Medicine to assist in the care of haematology patients treated as inpatients, outpatients and day patients. You will be working alongside 3 other Haematology Consultants and report in to the Clinical Director of Medicine and Pathology. This is a full time (10 session) post.
In this role you will be responsibilities will include:
Maintain good communication with the rest of the haematology multidisciplinary team.
Work with FY1, FY2 and SPR in the treatment of patients admitted with haematological conditions
Ability to Advise on efficient and smooth running of specialist service
Review referrals to haematology service daily
Run haematology outpatient clinics as necessary, seeing both new and follow up patients
Participate actively in clinical audit. The post holder will be expected to undertake at least one audit in a 6-month period and present this at the medicine audit meeting.
Ensure good communication with GPs and other agencies such as Palliative care services
Ability to teach clinical skills to medical and nursing and laboratory staff
