Exciting permanent role for a Lead Speech and Language Therapist to work in West London.. Our client, a leading private hospital in Central London, is currently recruiting a Lead Speech and Language Therapist. (NHS equivalent Band 8a.) To work within the Outpatient and Outreach clinical services department on a permanent basis.

We are looking for a highly skilled and knowledgeable Speech and Language Therapist to lead the outpatient service and provide a high quality Speech and Language services to patients with communication, voice, ENT, head & neck and swallowing problems.
As a key member of the multidisciplinary team, you will be supporting and managing less experienced/junior staff and develop professional and clinical links with consultants, in particular ENT and neurology. You will be liaising with doctors, nurses, therapists, patients/relatives on a daily basis, maintaining confidentiality and a high level of clinical practice. The successful Speech and Language Therapists will be required to assess, plan and evaluate care, manage complaints and keep accurate records, being responsible for audit and quality initiatives, service evaluation, development and marketing.
The ideal Speech and Language Therapist will hold a HPC registration and must be registered with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists. You will need good post registration and at least 4-5 years experience working in neurology, including stroke and head injury management, You must have knowledge and experience working within inpatients and outpatients settings, extensive experience in ITU, voice and ENT, head & neck, tracheostomy management, Videofluoroscopy and instrumental swallowing assessment (including FEES), along with post-graduate dysphagia training.
You will need the ability to prioritise your workload, delegating task as appropriate and demonstrate the flexibility to respond to the needs of the Department.
