Mediplacements is currently looking for a Deputy Manager with great knowledge of Clinical Governance to assist in the running of a theatre department within Private Hospital based in Oxford.

The Hospital has invested 50 million offering the very latest in terms of technology, treatment and care. Investments include high technology scanners and equipment to support the wide range of specialist services available. They have 25 consulting rooms, six main theatres and two minor theatres, and a seven bedded Intensive Care Unit.

Job Role

You will support the Theatre Manager with the Clinical Governance Agenda, running the clinical processes development and review. You will be responsible for the delivery of high quality patient-focussed care; through the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of a collaborative programme of care which is clinically effective, evidence based and appropriate.

You will review, develop, update and implement policies, procedures and protocols within the specified area of responsibility. You will represent the department at both internal and external meetings as required. Ensuring that all audits/action plans for the area of responsibility are undertaken and cascaded to the relevant Governance meetings.

You will be accountable for personnel management, which includes staff selection, induction, deployment, performance review, attendance management, and participation in disciplinary and grievance matters. You will monitor and facilitate the team's delivery of departmental objectives through competency assessment, training, development and staff mentoring.

Effectively manage resources within area of responsibility, e.g. consumables, equipment.
You will provide specialist nursing expertise within all aspects of this service, including providing training, clinical leadership, supervision and support to registered nurses, care assistants and students, in this area. You will also work alongside the consultants in this area to promote and develop the service. Providing specialist knowledge to the department and also act as an assessor.

To be considered for this role you must have a substantial amount of post registration experience in within theatres.
A professional management qualification e.g. NVQ level 3 is desirable.
