Urgent placement for an experienced Biomedical Scientist Band 6 to work in London.. Biomedical Scientist Band 6 urgently required for a 6 week contract in London. Working in the Dept of Respiratory and Systemic Infection.
You will be a reliable and motivated Band 6 Specialist Biomedical Scientist with great organisation skills, the ability to prioritise and manage time and workload.
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate a high degree of skill and knowledge who has vast experience, confidence and enthusiasm.
The role of Biomedical Scientist will involve
-Providing technical and scientific support for all Streptococcus pneumoniae services
-Analysis of clinical samples using antigen detection (bioplex) and conventional serotyping
-Development of expertise in immunological, microbiological and molecular technologies.
-Providing a high level of bacteriological and serological tests
-Supervise less experienced staff
-Process samples
-Maintenance of consumables and equipment in immediate area of work
-Maintain a high standard if professional competence while carrying out tests and investigations.
All candidates must be fully HPC Registered.

You will have a BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science degree or equivalent and evidence of speciality training in accordance with IBMS guidelines.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to work unsupervised and show integrity and competency in their work. Have great communication and team leadership skills, well developed physical skills, be highly motivated and decisive with excellent analytical skills.
